Formula Legends, one of the year’s most anticipated indie racing games, is officially launching on 18 September 2025. Developed by 3DClouds, the arcade-style racer is a nostalgic tribute to Formula One’s iconic eras—featuring unlicensed cars from the ‘70s, ‘90s, and modern day.
The game combines retro visuals with modern racing features, including weather changes, tyre wear, and refueling strategies.
Ahead of the full release, a new demo is now live for:
PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store)
Xbox Series X/S
PlayStation 5
Nintendo Switch players can expect access on 14 August 2025 via the eShop.
The demo includes:
Two iconic tracks: Hungary and Belgium
Time Attack and Custom Race modes
Cars from three distinct F1-inspired eras:
Mid-1970s
Early 1990s
Mid-2020s
3DClouds has refined Formula Legends based on extensive community feedback from earlier test builds. The latest demo showcases improved AI behavior and a more realistic handling model.
“Formula Legends has evolved massively since we announced the game earlier in the year,” said CEO Francesco Bruschi. “This new demo is another opportunity to learn and evolve the experience as we accelerate to launch.”
The team’s dedication is evident in the details—from dynamic racing strategies to art direction that blends minimalism with motorsport history.
Unlike typical modern sims, Formula Legends focuses on accessible gameplay without sacrificing depth. It’s a rare mix of retro flair and realistic mechanics, offering something fresh for both casual players and hardcore fans.
Expect features not often seen in arcade racers, such as:
Dynamic weather systems
Tyre degradation
Strategic refueling
AI with improved racing lines and adaptability
