The wait is almost over. Ghost of Yotei, the long-awaited sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, will release on October 2, 2025.
Revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, the new trailer, The Onryo’s List, confirmed the release date and teased story details. Fans also learned that a multiplayer Legends DLC will arrive in 2026.
Players take on the role of Atsu, a lone mercenary driven by vengeance. Her family was brutally murdered by the Yotei Six, a ruthless gang that nearly killed her as well.
Atsu now hunts each of them down. Players can strike names off the list in any order, making every journey unique.
Set in a stunning open world inspired by Ezo, the game balances its tale of revenge with breathtaking natural beauty. Blossoming sakura trees, snowy mountains, and dangerous wilds invite exploration at your own pace.
Based on interviews and gameplay previews, Ghost of Yotei expands on Tsushima’s formula with:
A vast open world filled with unexpected dangers.
Freedom to explore Ezo however you choose.
Dynamic combat with new weapons, including firearms.
Intense duels against the Yotei Six and their armies.
A cinematic story steeped in Japanese tradition and myth.
Sony executive Shuhei Yoshida even claimed it is “better than Tsushima,” making it one of 2025’s biggest PS5 exclusives.
