Megan Moroney is currently experiencing a pivotal moment in her career as she takes center stage on her first arena tour. The excitement of performing to sold-out audiences has made this journey memorable, but there’s another aspect that makes this time particularly fulfilling for the singer.
In a recent conversation with Cosmopolitan, the country music artist shared that her Cloud 9 Tour marks one of the first occasions she has traveled while single. This newfound independence allows her to savor the experience without any distractions.
“There have been many significant moments in my life that were overshadowed by relationships. It feels refreshing to have a clear mind. I’m discovering my likes, dislikes, and aspirations,” she explained.
This phase of her life has introduced a higher level of focus and discipline, enabling her to build healthier habits. However, once the tour concludes and she returns from her European shows, Moroney is open to dating again.
She reminisced about a previous tour where heartbreak affected her performance, recalling moments of tears before stepping onto the stage due to a relationship that hindered her enjoyment of the experience. That challenging time ultimately inspired her song “Hell Of A Show.” Now, she feels content, surrounded by friends, family, and her new puppy, Boots.
“Life is tranquil. I adopted a dog in February, and that’s exactly what I needed—no man, just a dog,” she said with certainty.
One of the greatest joys of being a songwriter for Moroney is the ability to transform painful experiences into music that resonates with others. She has crafted a collection of relatable songs that her fans passionately sing back to her, turning her concerts into therapeutic experiences.
She finds confidence in being vulnerable through her music, knowing that her stories might help others. “Whenever I hesitate to release a deeply personal song, I remind myself how it could benefit someone else. Each time I’ve taken that risk, fans have approached me, sharing how my songs have empowered them to make tough decisions,” she shared.
Fans have received a powerful blend of vulnerability and empowerment in her latest album, Cloud 9, released in February. The tour continues with a performance in Iowa tonight, followed by a stop in Minnesota on June 25. Moroney will wrap up her U.S. dates in mid-August before heading to Europe for shows in Norway, Denmark, France, the UK, and more.
