Following Sanders’ strong performance on Friday night, James posted on X (formerly Twitter):
“That young 👑 looking good out there! @ShedeurSanders Keep going UP!!! HEAD down on the grind and HEAD high to the most high.”
James also criticized those dismissing Sanders’ debut because it came in the preseason:
“And I don’t wanna hear that ‘It’s only preseason’ bs. Cause if he was out there not going in y’all would be on his ass about it! So give credit and grace lames.”
Sanders’ journey to starting in Week 1 of the preseason was far from smooth.
He fell to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft despite being seen as an early-round talent.
He faced public scrutiny in July after receiving two speeding tickets.
Injuries to Dillon Gabriel and Kenny Pickett opened the door for his first start.
In his debut against the Carolina Panthers, Sanders delivered an impressive first-half performance:
Two touchdown passes in the second quarter
Solid composure under defensive pressure
Strong chemistry with his receivers
His play caught the attention of fans, analysts, and sports stars like LeBron James.
With his confidence and skill, Sanders has a real opportunity to secure a key role for the Browns. Cleveland fans are eager to see if he can bring winning energy back to the city.
LeBron James’ support adds even more excitement to Sanders’ journey. The NBA icon knows the value of hard work and perseverance—qualities Sanders will need as he continues his NFL career.
