Brooks & Dunn are poised for a significant recognition. The Country Music Association (CMA) has officially announced that the legendary country duo will receive the prestigious 2026 CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.

As the most awarded duo in the history of the genre, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have dedicated over thirty years to their craft, leaving a lasting impression on countless fans and fellow artists.
“We take pride in honoring their contributions to this genre and the enduring legacy they continue to forge,” Trahern remarked in her statement.
The Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award is bestowed upon artists who have made remarkable and enduring contributions to country music. It recognizes those who have achieved significant success through their musical talents, live performances, philanthropic efforts, and overall contributions to the genre, along with impressive sales and streaming figures.
Brooks & Dunn have undoubtedly exceeded these criteria. The duo initially teamed up in 1990 and has since become a cornerstone of country music. Throughout their career, they have amassed 20 No. 1 hits, over 60 charted singles, more than 40 Top 10 hits, and have sold upwards of 30 million albums globally. Their distinctive sound has helped define the genre, with iconic tracks like “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” “Neon Moon,” “My Maria,” and “Believe”.
Brooks & Dunn’s accolades include two GRAMMY Awards, 58 CMA Award nominations, and a remarkable 20 CMA Awards, with 16 wins in the Vocal Duo of the Year category. They also served as hosts for the CMA Awards from 2004 to 2006 and have been honored with inductions into both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
