Bailey Zimmerman has publicly addressed the criminal charges brought against him in New Mexico, which arise from allegations of extensive damage to a hotel room, estimated at $16,000.
In a statement shared with TMZ, Zimmerman expressed his remorse towards the Pueblo of Sandia, a federally recognized Indian Tribe, as well as his fans. He emphasized that he is taking the legal situation very seriously.
“First and foremost, I want to apologize to the Pueblo of Sandia and everyone associated with Sandia Resort & Casino. It was never my intention to show any disrespect. I am sincerely sorry for my actions,” Zimmerman said. He acknowledged the respect he holds for the community and their hospitality, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to perform on Native land.
Zimmerman also conveyed his disappointment in having to cancel his performance, which let down his fans. “To those who purchased tickets and expected a show, I am truly sorry; you deserved much better from me. I recognize that being an artist comes with significant responsibilities, both on and off the stage, and I understand that I did not meet those expectations,” he reflected.
He reiterated his commitment to addressing the legal matter while expressing appreciation for his supporters. “I am dedicated to learning from this experience and growing as a person. Thank you to my fans for keeping me accountable and for understanding that I am only human. I value your support immensely,” he added.
TMZ initially reported that an arrest warrant was issued for Zimmerman, who faces both felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from an incident that took place on May 27 at the Sandia Resort and Casino amphitheater in Albuquerque. Allegations include that Zimmerman was intoxicated and behaved disruptively, leading to the cancellation of his scheduled performance.
Reports indicate that he displayed erratic behavior during soundcheck, such as stumbling and acting aggressively, even throwing equipment. Following a chaotic scene, he left the stage and, while being escorted back to the resort, reportedly spat toward a security officer. Upon return, he continued to struggle with coordination and required assistance from his team.
The resort ultimately requested his departure, prompting law enforcement intervention. Following a thorough inspection, housekeeping discovered significant damage in his hotel room, which included a broken television, damaged furniture, and a hole in the wall, among other issues. Additionally, Zimmerman allegedly accrued over $400 in unpaid charges for alcohol.
Attempts by the resort staff and law enforcement to reach Zimmerman and his team proved unsuccessful, resulting in the issuance of the arrest warrant. Following the incident, Zimmerman canceled his performance that night and another scheduled show in Rohnert Park, California, later citing illness as the reason for his absence.
