Stella began her tribute by expressing her belief that Dolly, who passed away on a Tuesday, has found peace in heaven. “If anyone gets to heaven, I’m sure she made it right on time,” she wrote. Stella recalled their cherished Tuesday morning phone calls, a tradition that kept them connected over the years. No matter how busy their lives got, the sisters made it a priority to catch up over coffee each week.
“Every Tuesday, before dawn, she and I would have our coffee together over the phone,” Stella shared. “Being little farm girls, we’ve remained early risers. As she used to say, ‘shoot Tedda, we get more work done before the sun comes up than most folks do all day long!’ We would share family news and make plans, just like sisters do.”
Stella also reassured fans that the Dolly they admired from afar was the same kind-hearted person in private. In a poignant revelation, she mentioned that Dolly had been open to the idea of participating in experimental medical treatments, even if her doctors deemed her situation hopeless. Dolly expressed hope that her participation could assist medical research for future patients.
Stella encouraged people to honor Dolly’s memory by embodying her spirit of kindness. “My sister was always thinking of others,” she noted. “If you wish to honor her legacy, show more kindness, elevate others, and offer your time and resources, just as she did until the very end.”
She thanked fans for their outpouring of love and respect, emphasizing how it comforts those mourning Dolly’s loss. “She left the world a better place by being in it; let’s follow her example. Love and respect to all of you.”
