In a groundbreaking moment for both the country music genre and children’s entertainment, Russell Dickerson has made history as the first country artist to appear in a music video for KIDZ BOP, the leading children’s music group.
His Platinum-certified track, “Happen To Me,” has resonated with audiences globally thanks to its infectious energy and uplifting vibe. Now, this beloved song has been reimagined for a younger audience with a KIDZ BOP cover, which includes a special appearance from Dickerson.
The newly released music video begins with Dickerson at SiriusXM’s The Highway studio, where he converses with host Macie Banks about the incredible success of “Happen To Me.” During their chat, she excitedly reveals that the song has been adapted for KIDZ BOP, prompting Dickerson to humorously inquire, “Does this mean I’ve made it?”
As the conversation unfolds, Dickerson expresses his long-held curiosity about what it would be like to be a KIDZ BOP kid. To his surprise, he is magically transformed into a KIDZ BOP kid, stepping into the world of youthful fun.
The video features the kid version of Dickerson joining the KIDZ BOP kids on an exciting adventure around Nashville. Filmed in collaboration with Visit Music City, they explore iconic Nashville landmarks, including Broadway, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Grand Ole Opry.
Clad in stylish denim outfits, the talented young performers sing and dance their way through the city, culminating in a backstage visit to the Grand Ole Opry. They step onto the legendary stage’s iconic circle, bringing their energetic performance to life.
The whimsical journey concludes with Dickerson reverting to his original self just in time to join the KIDZ BOP Kids for a lively dance party. The country star even showcases some of the viral dance moves that accompanied the song’s rise to popularity.
The KIDZ BOP rendition of “Happen To Me” is now available across all major streaming platforms. Additionally, Russell Dickerson has recorded a special message for KIDZ BOP Radio, which can be heard on SiriusXM Channel 135, where the fun never stops.
