Riley Green Takes on Coaching Role in The Voice
Riley Green is embracing a fresh role as a coach on Season 30 of NBC’s The Voice. His iconic red chair is receiving a one-of-a-kind enhancement that fans will find intriguing.
Custom Hat Holder Designed with Carson Daly
In a recent conversation with K99.1 FM, Green disclosed that host and producer Carson Daly assisted him in tailoring his chair. The country music star realized that his trademark cowboy hat would not fit comfortably due to the chair’s tall back. The innovative solution? A customized hat holder crafted specifically for him.
“Carson Daly asked me, ‘What’s your plan for the hat? Are you planning to wear it during the show?’ I explained, ‘I can’t wear it with a chair that tall.’ I thought it’d be neat to have a little holster for it. Carson replied, ‘As one of the executive producers, I can probably get that arranged,’” Green recounted.
Exciting Reveal on Set
When Green returned to the set, he was pleasantly surprised to find that Carson had made his idea a reality. “Before I knew it, I had a little holster for my hat. It’s a unique feature that no one else has,” he remarked.
Strategic Advantage in Competition
The Alabama native also mentioned that his special hat holder could serve more than just a practical purpose—it might aid him in attracting talented contestants during the competition. “I discovered that having the hat available when trying to recruit someone for your team adds a serious touch. It’s a little strategy,” he explained.
Joining the Ranks of Established Coaches
Green will be teaming up with seasoned coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson, along with new coach Queen Latifah, for the upcoming season. Although Green has ventured into various unexpected roles in his career, including acting in CBS’ Marshals, he admitted that he never envisioned himself as a coach on The Voice.
“It never even crossed my mind. When they reached out to me about the opportunity, I thought, ‘There’s no way,’” he shared.
Anticipation for Season 30
The “My Way” artist described his experience on the show as “incredible” and noted that “everyone has been wonderful.” He expressed excitement about working with the contestants, saying, “I can’t believe I’m on the show, and I look forward to helping the contestants.”
As fans await Green’s debut on The Voice, the countdown to Season 30 has officially begun.
