Riley Green’s Hilarious New Music Video
Riley Green is fully leaning into the mayhem of his latest summer hit with the release of the music video for “Think As You Drunk.” Directed by Wes Edwards, the video kicks off with a sweeping view of Green’s Duck Blind bar located in Midtown Nashville.
Inside the Bar: A Comedic Encounter
As the country artist stumbles inside after what appears to be a lengthy day of drinking, he quickly gets into a humorous confrontation with the nervous bartender. In a drunken haze, he declares, “Just who the hell do you think you are? I pay the light bill in this bar!”—a reaction to being cut off from ordering more drinks.
Meet Carl the Cowboy Corgi
Green’s trusty dog, Carl the Cowboy Corgi, makes multiple appearances throughout the video, initially lounging on the bar before getting into antics, including carrying off his owner’s missing boot. As Green continues to navigate the bar with a blurred vision, he mistakenly flirts with an older woman on a scooter, believing her to be a stunning blonde.
Returning Home: A Comedic Twist
After his bar escapade, Green returns home, trying to convince his partner that he is completely sober. However, his declaration, “I ain’t as think as you drunk I am,” only leads to her frustration, prompting him to leave on a riding lawn mower. This scene humorously references a well-known incident involving George Jones, showcasing the absurdity of his situation.
A Heartfelt Tribute
In a touching conclusion, the video pays homage to the late Toby Keith, featuring a photo of him raising a red Solo cup while Keith’s iconic voice resonates over the final moments of the track. Each segment of the video cleverly enhances the song’s comedic narrative, making Green’s drunken escapade a joy to behold.
About the Song and Upcoming Album
Co-written by Green in collaboration with Erik Dylan, Wyatt McCubbin, Jessi Alexander, and the late Toby Keith, “Think As You Drunk” was created in just 20 minutes. The track serves as a tribute to Keith’s 2005 hit “As Good As I Once Was,” utilizing its classic melody to complement Green’s original story.
The song will feature on Green’s anticipated album, “That’s Just Me,” set for release on September 18 through Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment. Produced by Dan Huff, the album is expected to reveal a range of personal tales, touching on themes of love, heartbreak, and carefree fun.
In addition to “Think As You Drunk,” the album includes previously released songs like “My Way,” known from CBS’s hit series Marshals, and his duet with Hannah McFarland, “Go Again.”
Tour Expansion and Upcoming Performances
Alongside the music release, Green has broadened his Cowboy As It Gets Tour with ten new arena dates in cities such as Long Beach, Los Angeles, and Austin. Before these shows, he is set to perform at Country Thunder Saskatchewan and Rock the Country in Ashland, Kentucky.
