Riley Green is set to feature a well-known figure on The Voice, as he has chosen Carly Pearce to mentor his team. The country artist feels his duet partner from “If I Don’t Leave, I’m Gonna Stay” was a natural fit to help guide his contestants through the competition.
Green has long respected Pearce as a talented artist and gained deeper insight into her creative process while collaborating on their recent duet. In an interview with Billboard, he shared that the experience pushed him beyond his usual boundaries and showcased the valuable guidance Pearce can provide in her mentorship role.
Reflecting on their collaboration, Green remarked, “When she invited me to join her on that track, it was a bit of a challenge for me. The demo reminded me of Charles Kelley and Ryan Hurd, and the way they approached the harmonies was different from my usual style. It was the most I had to stretch myself vocally. That’s what this show represents—taking risks and trying new things. Therefore, she was the perfect selection for coaching. She knows her craft inside out.”
As the blind auditions commence, viewers are witnessing the formation of Green’s team filled with promising country talent. Pearce’s background in the genre makes her a particularly suitable mentor. She aims to work closely with Green, assisting his artists in recognizing their strengths while urging them to embrace their individuality.
Pearce expressed her view on her role, stating that it offers an opportunity to provide both constructive feedback and encouragement. “I want to help them identify what makes them unique and good, and point out areas where they might shine even more,” she explained.
Pearce will make her appearance on the show starting on Tuesday, October 6, with subsequent episodes airing on October 12, 13, 19, and 26. This marks her second stint on The Voice, having previously assisted Michael Bublé as a playoff advisor in 2024.
Reflecting on her past experience, Pearce noted, “Regardless of the music genre, we’ve all been in the contestants’ shoes at some point. We have dreams and aspirations in this industry. I aim to discover what makes each individual stand out. Working with Michael’s team was enjoyable, even if they weren’t country artists, as I focused on identifying their strengths.”
Riley Green is making his debut as a coach in Season 30, joining fellow coaches Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and Queen Latifah. Fans can also look forward to seeing him return for the upcoming special season of The Voice: Celebrity, which will premiere on NBC in 2027.
