Riley Green Talks About His Perfect Date Night
In a recent interview with PEOPLE for its Sexiest Man Alive edition, country music star Riley Green shared insights about his dream date night, his most romantic gesture, and his aspirations for a family in the future.
Life in the Spotlight
Known as “country’s hottest cowboy,” Green is currently experiencing a whirlwind phase in his life. With a new album release, a headlining tour, and taking on the role of a coach on NBC’s The Voice, the 38-year-old is busier than ever. Despite his hectic schedule, he took time to answer questions from fans.
A Lighthearted Honor
Receiving the title of one of PEOPLE’s Sexiest Men Alive is something Green clearly cherishes. He humorously noted, “nobody can ever take this away from me!”
The Ideal Evening
When discussing his ideal date night, Green revealed his love for classic films. “I’m a big movie guy. If I could find a drive-in, wouldn’t that be cool? Maybe a steak somewhere and a drive-in to watch an old movie,” he shared.
Romantic Comedies and Family Influence
Having grown up with two sisters, Green is no stranger to romantic comedies. He mentioned a few favorites: “I like all the Matthew McConaughey films, like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and The Wedding Planner. I’ve seen them all thanks to my sisters!”
Memorable Romantic Gesture
Green also recounted a memorable Valentine’s Day when he surprised someone special with a romantic setup at his farm. He described how he set up an old army tent by a picturesque spot near the lake, complete with string lights and a campfire, all while sneaking around to prepare the surprise. “I thought that was pretty romantic,” he reflected. However, he humorously added, “I don’t know how she felt about it.”
Future Family Aspirations
While Green is currently focused on his career, he hasn’t dismissed the idea of settling down and starting a family. He expressed that spending time with his nephew helps him feel connected to family life. “If I like my son as much as I like my nephew Joe, I think we’ll get along great,” he noted, acknowledging the challenges of his busy lifestyle. “I can barely make this lifestyle work,” he admitted, referring to his demanding career that often keeps him on the road for over 200 days each year.
Staying Connected
Green shared how he stays close to his family despite his busy schedule by FaceTiming with his nephew and catching up on family events. “We’re all still really close, which makes it bearable in a pretty hectic lifestyle right now,” he concluded.
