Reba McEntire and Rex Linn Postpone Wedding Plans Again

Reba McEntire and Rex Linn Delay Wedding Plans

Reba McEntire and her fiancé Rex Linn have once again postponed their wedding date due to their hectic schedules. Despite being engaged since Christmas Eve 2024 on their Tennessee ranch, the couple has not yet tied the knot.

Enjoying Their Engagement

Both McEntire and Linn have expressed their desire to savor their engagement rather than rush into marriage. They first announced the postponement of their wedding plans in February during an interview on Live From E! at the 68th Annual GRAMMY Awards. McEntire noted that their busy filming schedules, particularly for the NBC sitcom they star in, Happy’s Place, have contributed to the delay.

Busy Filming Schedules

In her interview, McEntire mentioned, “We’re still waiting on a third season pickup from Happy’s Place.” She added that Linn’s commitment to their careers often takes precedence, reminding her that “work comes first,” especially with new opportunities on the horizon.

Another Delay in Wedding Plans

Recently, in a conversation with PEOPLE, McEntire indicated that their work commitments have once again pushed back their wedding plans. She stated, “We’re just waiting until we have an open spot to have the wedding. Get it planned and print those invitations.”

Busy Lives Together

Her co-star from Happy’s Place, Belissa Escobedo, also highlighted how busy the couple is, saying they are “two of the busiest people” always engaged in new projects.

Wedding Venue and Plans

While they are still determining the exact date for their wedding, McEntire and Linn have decided on their venue: their Tennessee ranch. They want their animals to be part of the celebration, with McEntire mentioning, “We’re going to have to have dogs there. I have two granddogs, Watson and Belle, so they may be the ring bearers or something.”

A Nontraditional Celebration

McEntire has reiterated that their wedding will not follow traditional norms. Instead, they envision a low-key, fun event filled with close friends, family, and plenty of food. “A Reba/Rex wedding is going to be very different,” she explained to PEOPLE. “It’s going to be low-key, lots of fun, lots of people, lots of food. Our big motto is just have fun.”

Shared Career Ventures

The couple has appeared together in various television shows and movies over the years, including Happy’s Place, Big Sky, The Hammer, and Young Sheldon. As they navigate their careers, the wedding planning continues to take a backseat for now.
