Priscilla Block recently expressed her heartfelt thoughts with fans, announcing her transition to an independent artist for the first time since 2020.
At just 17, Block moved to Nashville with a mere $50 and dreams of a music career after graduating high school. Her dedication and hard work led to a loyal fan base and eventually to a record deal with MCA/Mercury Nashville and InDent Records.
Over the past six years, Block has released several songs under a record label, including her second album, Things You Didn’t See, released in October 2025. Now, she is ready to venture into the world of independent music, with plans to release her own music moving forward.
The foundation of Block’s career has always been her openness with fans, whether through social media, live performances, or her songwriting. As she embarks on this new journey, she continues to invite her supporters to be part of her experience.
In her Instagram statement, Block emphasized the importance of authenticity in her journey. “I’ve shared a lot over the years, maybe even too much at times, but that’s who I am,” she stated. She acknowledged the role her fans have played in her story, emphasizing the importance of sharing her journey to inspire others.
Block shared her excitement about releasing new music independently for the first time since her breakout single, “Just About Over You,” in August 2020. Reflecting on her decision to go independent, she described it as one of the toughest yet most necessary choices of her career.
Block reached a point where she questioned why she was waiting for others to believe in her music when she already had faith in her talent. Her goal is to rediscover the passion she had at 17, a time when self-belief was unshakeable. Now, she feels empowered by the support of her fans.
“You all changed my life overnight because you believed in me and my music,” Block expressed. She feels ready to embark on this new phase with gratitude for her past experiences while being excited about the future. Currently, she’s writing what she believes are her best songs, fueled by inspiration and determination.
Although this new chapter comes with uncertainties, Block is placing her trust in God, her instincts, her team, and her fans. “I’m fully betting on myself again. Does that scare me sometimes? Absolutely. But sometimes the things that scare you the most are the exact things you’re supposed to do,” she concluded, expressing her eagerness to begin anew as an independent artist.
