Scott Thomas, the drummer of the renowned country band Parmalee, and his wife Lexia are thrilled to share that they are expecting their first child! The couple revealed this heartwarming news exclusively to Country Now, announcing the arrival of their “little drummer boy” expected in December.
Lexia expressed her overwhelming feelings upon learning they would soon be parents. “I was hit with so many emotions, from shock to excitement. It still feels surreal, and I think it will continue to feel that way until he arrives. We are incredibly excited,” she said.
Scott reminisced about being away on tour when Lexia suspected she might be pregnant. She decided to wait for him to return home so they could take the test together. After confirming the news with several tests over the following days, Scott shared, “It’s just so exciting.”
Once they received confirmation, the couple joyfully shared their news with close family and friends, including Scott’s bandmates from Parmalee. Scott mentioned, “We really shocked everyone, I think.”
While they haven’t yet settled on a name, Scott is thrilled about welcoming another boy into the Thomas family. The couple chose to share their announcement through a series of meaningful photos, opting for a backstage setting with road cases as a nod to their life on tour.
Lexia explained their choice of location, saying, “We wanted to reflect our backgrounds in the music industry, where our love story first began in 2019. It just felt right to capture this moment in a way that represents both of our lives.”
In one of the photos, Lexia wore a vintage T-shirt that holds special significance for Scott. That shirt was part of a fundraiser from 2010, during a time when Scott faced a life-threatening situation after an armed robbery resulted in him being shot three times. With a mere 5% chance of survival at one point, Scott spent 10 days in a coma, and his friends, family, and fans rallied to support him during his recovery.
Wearing that shirt during their pregnancy announcement symbolizes a full-circle moment for the couple. Scott noted, “Having this baby brings everything back home, and our loved ones are thrilled for us because they remember the struggles we faced and now we are welcoming new life.”
As they prepare for their baby’s arrival, the couple is also set to celebrate their six-year anniversary this October. After meeting on the road, they quickly realized their connection and married in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas in October 2020.
After the birth of their son, Scott and Lexia plan to bring him along on tour with Parmalee, ensuring he has an extraordinary life filled with love and support from their extended family on the road. “He’s going to be very loved and spoiled already,” Scott joked. Lexia added, “With built-in uncles and babysitters on the road, it’s going to be a fun adventure for us all!”
This weekend, the couple will kick off their baby celebrations with two baby showers, the first in North Carolina and another planned for Nashville. Meanwhile, Scott will continue touring with Parmalee until February 2027, with a break in December and January to welcome their new addition.
