Morgan Wallen has embarked on a fresh chapter in his career with the release of his latest solo single, “Been By Now.” This marks his first solo offering in 2026, and fans were treated to an exclusive preview during his electrifying sold-out concert at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The full song was officially unveiled to the public today, July 24.
The song was co-written by Wallen, Charlie Handsome, John Byron, Blake Pendergrass, Rocky Block, and Taylor Phillips, with production by Joy Moi. It delves into the intricate emotions tied to witnessing a relationship gradually fade.
Rather than depicting a dramatic breakup, the song captures the subtle, often overlooked moments that precede such events. It reflects the experience of a couple sensing the growing distance between them, coupled with unanswered questions and the realization that what once felt effortless has become challenging.
Throughout the track, Wallen contemplates the increasing effort required to maintain a connection, which has begun to overshadow the joy it once brought. Despite the lingering affection between the two individuals at the heart of the song, doubts arise about whether love alone can sustain them.
Wallen’s signature raspy vocals shine against a catchy melody that carries bittersweet undertones. He poignantly sings, “If it was meant to be, we’d have been by now / We wouldn’t have to keep trying to work things out…” This encapsulates the essence of questioning their relationship’s viability.
The release of this new single comes on the heels of Wallen’s successful album, “I’m the Problem,” which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in May 2025. The album has impressively maintained its position within the Top 10 for 13 weeks.
As fans eagerly anticipate Wallen’s next steps, he is also in the final stretch of his extensive 23-stadium “Still The Problem Tour.” With just two weekends and four shows remaining, the tour will conclude in Ann Arbor, MI, and Philadelphia, PA.
