Miranda Lambert is set to headline the 30th annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Kickoff during the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles. This live performance will take place at AT&T Stadium on November 26, coinciding with the nationally televised game starting at 3:30 p.m. CT on FOX.
The highly anticipated halftime show will serve as the official launch for the Salvation Army’s 136th Red Kettle Campaign, which raises funds to support millions of individuals and families throughout the year, particularly during the festive season.
The announcement came on Sunday, October 25, featuring a playful video of Lambert arriving on her longhorn for rehearsal. The video also showcased Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and the team mascot, all eagerly anticipating her performance.
Lambert expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “Music has a unique ability to unite people, particularly when it’s aimed at spreading joy and hope to those in need. The collaboration between The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys has created a remarkable tradition, and I am thrilled to return to Texas this Thanksgiving to contribute to it.”
The Red Kettle Kickoff was conceived by Charlotte Jones, the chief brand officer and co-owner of the Dallas Cowboys, and has grown significantly over the years. This event has transformed into a cherished holiday tradition, raising over $3.4 billion for the campaign since its inception.
Charlotte Jones remarked, “The Red Kettle Kickoff stands as one of the Dallas Cowboys’ most cherished traditions, and my family and our organization eagerly anticipate it every Thanksgiving. For three decades, extraordinary artists have graced our halftime stage to help The Salvation Army bring hope to countless individuals in need. We are thankful to Miranda Lambert for joining this legacy and continuing this significant tradition.”
Charlotte Jones developed the idea in the 1990s, inspired by her father, Jerry Jones, to create a positive impact on fans beyond football. Partnering with The Salvation Army allowed her to utilize the Thanksgiving halftime show to encourage charitable giving. The inaugural performance in 1997 featured Reba McEntire, and since then, the event has welcomed a variety of artists including Destiny’s Child, Carrie Underwood, and Post Malone.
Commissioner Merle Heatwole, national commander of The Salvation Army, stated, “The Red Kettle Campaign offers people a straightforward way to spread joy and assist their neighbors in need. For the past thirty years, the Red Kettle Kickoff has shared this spirit of giving with a nationwide audience. We are grateful to the Dallas Cowboys, the Gene and Jerry Jones family, and Miranda Lambert for helping us launch the season by highlighting the needs of communities across the country.”
The upcoming halftime show will officially kick off the Red Kettle Campaign, inviting individuals nationwide to contribute and support Salvation Army programs in their communities. Every donation remains within the local area, providing essential services to those facing difficulties.
