Megan Moroney Introduces Boots

In February 2026, Megan Moroney welcomed her new puppy, Boots, into the spotlight. Since then, she has attracted a dedicated following through charming social media updates that capture her adventures on the Cloud 9 Tour.

Finding the Right Puppy

When Moroney decided to adopt a dog, she sought one that could adapt to her busy touring lifestyle. She found that Boots was the ideal match.

“I mentioned to the breeder that if I was to get this dog, it needed to be accustomed to a traveling lifestyle. Therefore, I trained her even before bringing her home. I wanted to ensure her personality was a good fit; if she wasn’t sociable, I would wait for another dog. Luckily, she proved to be very friendly and adaptable,” Moroney shared.

Choosing the Perfect Name

The next challenge was selecting the perfect name for her furry friend. Initially, Moroney was torn between two names: Lorraine and Boots.

“I felt I needed to meet her to decide on a name, much like naming a child. I was between Boots and Lorraine, inspired by my song ‘Waiting on the Rain’ which sounds like ‘Lorraine.’ I’ve always liked that name, but when I noticed her back feet are white like my cowgirl boots, it felt right to name her Boots,” she explained.

The dog’s full name, Boots Withefer, playfully nods to the famous line from Flo Rida’s 2007 hit, “Low.” Given Moroney’s flair for clever lyrics, it was fitting her dog’s name would reflect that creativity.

“It has a classy ring to it, like Boots Withefer. It amusingly references ‘Shawty had them apple bottom jeans,'” she joked. “I even considered Boots E. Wootsy as a middle name, but we decided on Boots Withefer.”

Boots’ Personality and Nicknames

Boots has garnered a variety of nicknames, including Booty, Scooty, Wooty, and Booter. Interestingly, she shares some traits with Moroney, such as being a selective eater.

“I suppose it’s a Megan trait. She’s not very food motivated; however, if you withhold affection, that’s how to get her to behave… she’s truly the best,” Moroney stated.

Tour Life Essentials

Alongside her beloved dog, the “Medicine” singer highlighted some essentials that keep her grounded during her extensive tour.

“I love matching outfits; my bus is filled with them. I also carry cool shoes, a humidifier, and vocal mist. I maintain a strict routine on this tour, planning my day down to the last minute,” she revealed.

Moroney’s meals consist of a rotation of salmon, chicken, and steak, paired with sweet potatoes and green beans. “I eat at 3:15 PM because I need time to digest before performing. I also have a protein shake at 6 PM. And Pilates by Izzy is crucial for me,” she added.
