Lainey Wilson Tries to Teach Husband Duck Hodges to Sing

Lainey Wilson’s Singing Lesson with Duck Hodges

Lainey Wilson recently took to social media to share a funny moment with her husband, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, as she tried to coach him on singing. The couple showcased their playful dynamic while Wilson attempted to teach Hodges her latest single, “Phone, Keys, Wallet.”

Hodges Takes on the Challenge

“Alright, I’m with the music. She’s gonna teach me how to sing,” Hodges declared in front of the camera. With her guitar in hand, Wilson strummed the chords and began to sing the first verse of her catchy song.

Attempting to Sing

As she sang, “When I’m 10 minutes late/ Rushing like a hurricane through the house/ Might leave the iron plugged in/ But I got the sure-fires ironed out,” Hodges prepared for his turn. He suggested that they take it slow, prompting Wilson to set her guitar aside and snap her fingers to keep the beat.

“Just sing the first line, ‘When I’m 10 minutes late/ Rushing like a hurricane through the house,'” she challenged him. However, Hodges hesitated, admitting, “I can’t do it.” Wilson encouraged him, saying, “Yes, you can. I’ll do it with you.”

Whistling Instead of Singing

Despite his best efforts, Hodges only made it partway through the line before bursting into laughter. He then humorously suggested, “Look, I’m a whistler. Let me whistle it” as he opted to whistle instead of sing.

Afterward, Wilson playfully critiqued his whistling, saying, “Little flat, but that’s alright,” to which Hodges replied in the comments, “No that ass ain’t 😂❤️.”

Life as Newlyweds

Hodges is realistic about his singing abilities, joking that his musical talent is limited to blowing a duck call. It seems he may need a few more lessons before he’s performance-ready.

The couple, who tied the knot at Ruskin Cave in Dickson, Tennessee, in May, always appear to share joyful moments together, especially during quiet times at home. Their love story began in 2021, following a blind date that blossomed into romance.
