Lainey Wilson is set to host the CMA Awards for an impressive third year in a row. Scheduled for November 18 at Bridgestone Arena, Wilson has a lot on her plate as she gets ready for the event, including selecting her outfits and practicing her script. The talented artist has already brainstormed some entertaining ideas for the ceremony.
Wilson is eager to celebrate the achievements of her peers and honor this year’s nominees. The highlight of the 60th annual CMA Awards is Ella Langley, who leads the nominations with nine nods.
During a recent guest appearance on the Amazon Music Podcast, Country Heat Weekly, Wilson shared a lighthearted concept for how to celebrate if Langley wins big at the awards. Given Langley’s outstanding year, Wilson joked about the possibility of her “sweeping” the awards.
“I’m gathering ideas and one of my suggestions was to bring Ella a bedazzled broom, so she can sweep up the awards,” Wilson said. “I’ll also have a bedazzled dustpan on hand,” she added with a laugh.
At last year’s 59th CMA Awards, Lainey Wilson, Ella Langley, and Riley Green shared the spotlight as the most-awarded artists, each taking home three trophies.
In addition to her hosting responsibilities, Wilson is also nominated in three categories this year. She aims to defend her titles for Entertainer of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year, along with competing for Single of the Year for her song “Somewhere Over Laredo.”
If Wilson secures another win for Entertainer of the Year, it would mark a significant achievement in her career. She shared that this honor represents more than just personal acclaim; it symbolizes the representation of country music as a whole.
“Every year I’ve been nominated, it has meant something different,” she reflected. “This year, I’ve traveled to Australia and accomplished so much, from acting to performing at various events. It’s all about showcasing the genre in the best possible way.”
The milestone 60th Annual CMA Awards will be broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 18, at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+. Viewers can also stream the event on Hulu the following day.
As the event approaches, notable performers such as Langley, Cody Johnson, Kacey Musgraves, and others have been announced. More performers, presenters, and additional details will be revealed soon, with a full list of nominees available online.
