Jake Owen Celebrates Five Years of Sobriety

Jake Owen’s Journey to Sobriety

Jake Owen recently marked a significant milestone in his life, celebrating five years of sobriety. Taking to social media, he expressed his gratitude and pride while reflecting on this personal achievement.

A Reflection on Growth

In a brief update shared on September 17, Owen revealed that this date symbolizes five years since he made the decision to quit drinking. He stated, “September 17th, today. I decided five years ago I was not going to drink any more alcohol, and here we are five years later. So I’m kind of proud of myself actually. I feel great.”

Recognizing Past Mistakes

Owen took a moment to acknowledge the mistakes he made prior to his sobriety, expressing a desire to amend how he treated others. “I know that even before I made the decision to stop drinking, I made so many dumb decisions and treated people in ways I wish I could take back,” he shared. He emphasized that acknowledging flaws is a crucial part of personal growth.

Encouragement for Others

Encouraging those contemplating sobriety, Owen noted, “If you’re thinking about it, it’s a big deal in life and it’s awesome and life only gets that much better.” He stressed that his journey was primarily for himself and his loved ones, revealing that sobriety has a positive ripple effect on those around him.

Gratitude for Support

During his message, Owen expressed appreciation for the friends and family who have supported him throughout his journey. “I can look around and see how great of friends I have in my life, the people that have really been there for me and believe in me,” he reflected. He concluded by sharing love and good wishes with his followers, encouraging everyone to strive for self-improvement.

Looking Ahead

Currently, Jake Owen is also busy with new projects, having released his latest album, Dreams to Dream, in 2025. Additionally, he is in the process of opening a restaurant and bar named Pearl’s in downtown Kingston Springs, Tennessee, inspired by his eldest daughter.

Final Thoughts

With heartfelt sincerity, Owen concluded his message by saying, “I love you guys. I’m proud of you. I’m proud of me. I’m proud of all of us. Just be good people. Keep bettering yourself.”
