HARDY to Make Cameo in Glen Powell’s ‘The Comeback King’

HARDY’s Exciting Film Debut

HARDY has announced his cameo appearance in the upcoming Universal Pictures film, The Comeback King, starring Glen Powell. This marks HARDY’s entry into feature films, following his previous acting role in the 2022 music video for “wait in the truck” alongside Lainey Wilson.

First Look at The Comeback King

During this year’s CMA Fest in Nashville, Glen Powell treated fans to a glimpse of the comedy film. He made a surprise appearance at Nissan Stadium, where he performed a humorous stunt by pouring a beer into a cowboy boot, chugging it, and tossing the boot into the audience, all of which was captured on film for The Comeback King.

HARDY’s Role and Experience

In a recent interview with Audacy’s Katie Neal, HARDY shared that while he will be making an appearance in the film, he is under wraps about specific details regarding his role. He described the experience as both challenging and entertaining, stating, “It’s the hardest acting I’ve ever had to do because of how funny it is. I felt like I was in a scene from SuperBad, laughing not just at the lines but at how funny they will be once finished.”

Star-Studded Cameos

HARDY hinted that he won’t be the only country artist making a cameo in the film, which revolves around a former country music star, played by Glen Powell, whose career is in decline. “There’s a lot of cameos… I don’t think I know many people who haven’t been involved in it,” he remarked, hinting at the film’s star-studded lineup.

Glen Powell’s Commitment to the Role

HARDY praised Glen Powell for his dedication to authentically representing the country music scene, likening his commitment to that of Post Malone, who immersed himself in songwriting culture. “He really came to town and wanted to learn about the community to portray his character better,” HARDY noted.

Reflecting on His Acting Journey

HARDY reflected on his previous role in the “wait in the truck” music video, which pushed him out of his comfort zone in a different manner. He mentioned that if he were to act again, he would prefer to portray himself, similar to how actors like Vince Vaughn do. “I think that’s the only way I can do it,” he added, acknowledging the difficulty of transforming into a completely different character.

Anticipation for The Comeback King

Fans can look forward to seeing HARDY’s cameo in The Comeback King, set to release in theaters on February 5, 2027. The film promises a mix of humor and country music, featuring appearances from various artists.
