Hank Williams Jr. Postpones Michigan Concerts Due to Smoke

Hank Williams Jr. Postpones Concerts in Michigan

Hank Williams Jr. has announced the postponement of two upcoming concerts that were set for this weekend, citing poor air quality in Michigan as the reason.

Severe Air Quality Issues in Michigan

This week, Michigan has faced some of the most detrimental air quality levels in the United States, primarily due to smoke from wildfires raging in Minnesota and Canada. These conditions have led to warnings about hazardous air quality for both residents and visitors.

Rescheduled Concert Dates

On Friday morning, Hank Jr.’s team shared the news via social media, confirming that both shows have been pushed to next month. The new dates are set for August 13 at Pine Knob Music Theatre and August 14 at Acrisure Amphitheater.

“Due to concerns regarding air quality, the Hank Williams Jr. performances in Michigan this weekend have been postponed and rescheduled,” the announcement stated.

Ticket Information for Fans

The team reassured fans that all tickets purchased will still be valid for the rescheduled performances. Ticket holders can expect further details to be communicated directly via email.

Impact on Other Midwest Festivals

Hank Williams Jr. isn’t the only artist affected by the wildfire smoke; several country music festivals in the Midwest are also adjusting their plans.

Country Thunder Wisconsin’s Response

Country Thunder Wisconsin, which began on Thursday and runs through Sunday, is actively updating attendees about the air quality situation. The festival has committed to collaborating with local officials to ensure safety measures are in place.

“Your health and safety is our top priority. We will provide masks at all entry points if necessary,” the festival organizers announced, emphasizing their commitment to attendee safety.

Country Jam USA’s Precautions

Meanwhile, Country Jam USA in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, continues as planned but is vigilantly monitoring the air quality conditions. Festival organizers are coordinating with emergency response teams to stay abreast of smoke warnings and heat advisories.

Festivalgoers are advised to remain hydrated, take breaks in shaded areas, and wear masks if smoke levels worsen during the event.
