Emily Ann Roberts Thrilled by Crochet Dolls from Fans

Emily Ann Roberts’ Heartwarming Surprise

After a successful performance in Brunswick, Georgia, singer Emily Ann Roberts and her husband, Chris Sasser, were met with an extraordinary surprise from their devoted fans.

Unique Gifts from Admirers

Following her sold-out concert at the Center for the Arts on July 10, the couple took to social media to share a video showcasing the delightful array of gift baskets, treats, and presents they received from attendees. While they expressed gratitude for all the thoughtful gestures, one particular handmade gift captured their attention.

Handcrafted Dolls that Resemble the Couple

“You won’t believe what someone has given us… They’re not ready for this,” Roberts excitedly announced. She unveiled two crocheted dolls crafted to look exactly like her and Chris. The doll representing Roberts featured her trademark blonde hair and was dressed in a pink dress with a blue vest, mirroring an outfit from a recent Cowgirl magazine photoshoot.

“And if you don’t think that’s enough…” Roberts teased, reaching back into the gift bag.

Chris chimed in, “This is the best part.”

Roberts then showcased the second doll, designed to replicate her husband, complete with his bald head, a baseball cap, and a miniature belt buckle, showcasing remarkable attention to detail.

Impressive Craftsmanship

“Look, they made him bald because he is in fact a bald-headed boy. Look at the detail on this. Even the back of the hat’s got the opening… it’s amazing,” she exclaimed.

Additionally, each doll was designed with tiny buttons on the back, allowing their outfits to be changed as desired. Although Roberts is known for her love of crocheting and has playfully referred to herself as a “YeeHaw Meemaw,” she admitted this level of craftsmanship was a true work of art compared to her own creations.

“This is talent. I crochet little goofy squares. This is art. And now we have crochet versions of us. I told Chris that we need to put them on our nightstand so that we can have each other nearby,” she laughed.

A Cherished Gift

Chris reminisced about a time in London when they spotted a similar crocheted doll that Roberts had wanted to buy, but it was too pricey. Ever since, she had been longing for that doll. Now, with these handmade versions, she expressed her joy, saying, “Now someone has given me a version of me and a doll and Mr. Sasser. I love them.”

While going through the gifts, they noticed the dolls didn’t come with a card identifying the artist. Soon enough, Stephanie Barnes, the creator, revealed herself in the comments, expressing her happiness that the couple loved her creations. She shared her excitement about attending the concert and the joy she felt while making the dolls.

Roberts, known for her crochet skills, appreciated the effort that went into such a thoughtful gift, making it even more special.
