Emily Ann Roberts, alongside her husband Chris Sasser, has addressed one of the most frequently asked questions from their fans: when do they plan to have children?

Insights from Their YouTube Channel

In a recent video on their Sasser House YouTube channel, the couple opened up about various topics, including marriage advice, gardening updates, and their future family plans. They were candid with their audience, sharing their thoughts on starting a family.

Reflecting on Their Journey

As they approach their sixth wedding anniversary on November 8, Emily and Chris explained that the desire to have children is something they have contemplated and prayed for over the years. However, with Emily’s career continuing to flourish, they are still navigating how to integrate family life into their professional commitments.

Emily’s Career Milestones

At just 27 years old, Emily is currently enjoying a significant career boost. After receiving her first ACM Awards nomination earlier this year, she has also been nominated for the CMA Awards and is touring with Thomas Rhett on his The Soundtrack To Life Tour. Later this year, she plans to join Cody Johnson on his UK tour, marking a pivotal moment in her musical journey.

Timing for Parenthood

Despite her success, Emily shared that the timing for starting a family doesn’t feel right at the moment. “We knew we wanted to wait at least three years… well, three years flew by. And now, this November, we will have been married six years,” she reflected. The couple is enjoying their time together and acknowledges that children could enhance their joy, but Emily feels committed to her career, which she has pursued for over a decade.

Logistical Challenges of Touring

This year, Emily made a significant leap from touring in a van to traveling by tour bus, which had initially been seen as a potential turning point for family planning. However, the bus quickly filled with crew members, complicating the idea of bringing a baby on the road, which could necessitate additional transportation.

Balancing Career and Family Life

Emily articulated her dedication to her music, stating, “I don’t want to stop. I feel like God has given me a message to share, and it’s more than just a career to me.” She expressed concerns about being away from her future children and the importance of being a present mother during crucial moments in their lives.

Future Family Visions

Chris added, “We’ve talked about it a lot and prayed about it. We both want kids, but there’s never a perfect time to start a family.” Emily hopes to have children before she turns 40 and even dreams of having twins. “I would love to have lots of kiddos, built-in best friends,” she said, emphasizing the joy of growing their family in the future.

Focusing on Their Relationship

While they’re not ready to expand their family just yet, both Emily and Chris are committed to nurturing their relationship, advancing their careers, and enjoying their flourishing garden at home. Until the time comes for children, they will continue to support one another and focus on their shared goals.
