Colt Ford’s management team at Average Joes Entertainment has provided a health update regarding the country music artist after a bus accident that occurred in Germany on August 12.
After the incident, Ford took to social media to inform his fans that their tour bus had veered off the road and ended up in a ditch while they were en route to a performance in Germany. Although the crew sustained some minor injuries, Ford reassured his followers that everyone was safe and expressed gratitude that the situation was not worse.
“One minute you’re headed to Germany for a show and prepping for single release, the next thing you know your bus is in the ditch and you’re getting pulled through a windshield with a broken shoulder by first responders. The crew is a little banged up, but we’re all still here,” he shared.
The specific cause and location of the bus crash have not been disclosed. However, it is known that the accident occurred shortly before Ford was scheduled to perform at Tailgate X in Ballenstedt, a central German town.
Due to his broken shoulder, Ford underwent surgery a few days later, which his team announced was a success. They stated, “We’re happy to share that the surgery went well, and Colt is now focused on resting, recovering, and getting back to doing what he loves.”
In light of his injury, Ford will be either rescheduling or canceling several performances to ensure a proper recovery. A recent statement on Ford’s Instagram emphasized that although he dislikes missing shows and time with his fans, his health must take precedence.
Ford has received an overwhelming amount of support from fans and fellow musicians. He expressed his appreciation for the prayers and messages he has received. “We appreciate everyone’s understanding and continued support as Colt focuses on his recovery. We’ll share additional updates as they become available,” the statement concluded.
Fans who have purchased tickets for any upcoming shows that are being postponed or canceled should reach out to the respective venue or point of purchase for details regarding rescheduled dates or refunds.
This latest incident follows a previous health scare in 2024 when Ford survived a near-fatal heart attack. After that experience, he made significant lifestyle changes, including dietary adjustments and losing over 60 pounds. Ford is currently scheduled to return to the stage on September 4 for a performance at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, WI.
