Country music legend Clint Black has regrettably canceled his scheduled performance on July 3 at Pearl River Resort Casino, located in Pearl River, Mississippi. This decision comes after he was hospitalized following a medical emergency.
As per an official announcement from Black’s team, the singer was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, June 28, due to an infection affecting his tonsils. He is currently undergoing treatment that includes emergency intravenous antibiotics.
A statement released by his management confirmed, “Clint Black’s performance at the Pearl River Resort Casino, scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2026, has been canceled due to a medical emergency. Clint was admitted to the hospital on Sunday with infected tonsils requiring emergency intravenous antibiotic treatment.”
Fortunately, his team reassured fans that Clint is making progress and is expected to fully recover. The statement added, “Clint is on the mend and will make a full recovery and is expected to be discharged from the hospital later this week. Clint and his management team sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this cancellation may cause.”
For fans who purchased tickets to the concert, full refunds will be processed through the original point of sale.
According to Clint Black’s official website, his next performance is planned for July 9 in Minden, Nevada.
This year has been significant for the artist, particularly with the release of his long-awaited memoir, Killin’ Time: My Life and Music, on May 19. In this book, Black shares his journey from his upbringing near Houston to his rise as a country music icon.
Clint mentioned in an interview that he never imagined he would write a book. However, with encouragement from his wife, Lisa Hartman Black, he decided to share his story. The memoir includes personal anecdotes and professional challenges he has faced, offering insights that have not been disclosed publicly before.
The memoir is currently available for purchase on various platforms, including Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
