In 2024, Chase Matthew realized his dream of touring alongside country superstar Jason Aldean, marking his first experience with a prominent country act. This year, his expanding fanbase and musical success allowed him to return as the direct support for Aldean on the Songs About Us Tour. To celebrate the significance of these opportunities, Matthew decided to give Aldean a heartfelt end-of-tour gift.
Just days after concluding the 22-city tour, the emerging country artist took to Instagram to unveil the special gift he selected for his tour companion. Knowing how much touring with Aldean meant to him, Matthew aimed for a present that was both personal and meaningful.
“Touring with Jason has been a full-circle thing for me. Coming back this year as direct support made it even more special, so I knew I had to get him an end-of-tour gift that represented how much it meant to me. What do you get a guy who seems to have it all?” Matthew pondered.
After extensive thought and brainstorming numerous ideas, Matthew ultimately decided to search for a new vehicle for Aldean, one that would also pay homage to one of his iconic songs.
“I settled on a vintage hot rod. I knew it had to be a ’68 because of the line in ‘My Kinda Party,’” he shared, referencing the lyrics that include, “I got the cover off the ’68.”
Matthew revealed, “When I found this Pontiac LeMans on Facebook Marketplace, I knew I had found the right one. Over the past couple of months, I’ve been fine-tuning it and adding my personal touches. To me, nothing embodies a badass country singer and AMERICA quite like a ’68 Pontiac convertible. So here’s to pulling the cover off the ’68!”
In his Instagram post, the “All My Exes” singer concluded his message by expressing heartfelt thanks to Aldean for the experiences, knowledge, and inspiration he has provided throughout their time together.
“Thank you @jasonaldean for everything you have taught me, and for being such an inspiration in my career!”
While Chase Matthew’s journey on the Songs About Us Tour has wrapped up, he still has an exciting performance lined up with Aldean in 2026. On December 11, he is set to take the stage at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, where he will energize the crowd as the opening act for the final show of Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan’s co-headlining Double Down Tour 2026.
