During CMA Fest 2026, Carly Pearce took a moment to reflect on her bluegrass heritage through a heartfelt performance featuring renowned bluegrass musicians Ricky Skaggs and Molly Tuttle, alongside the talented 15-year-old mandolin player Shay Morgan.
On the third night at Nissan Stadium, Pearce shared with the audience her journey from a young girl in Kentucky to a celebrated country artist, emphasizing her deep connection to bluegrass music.
To commemorate her early musical influences, Pearce collaborated with Skaggs and Tuttle, performing Sierra Hull’s “From Now On.” This performance not only honored the past but also highlighted emerging talents, like Shay Morgan, through the CMA Foundation.
Shay Morgan, described by Tuttle as a “mandolin shredder,” impressed everyone with her skill and stage presence. Hailing from Florida, Morgan has been gaining recognition through her performances and social media presence. On stage, she beautifully conveyed the narrative of a love that strives to endure and grow.
Pearce led the vocals, harmonizing with Skaggs and Tuttle to create a captivating blend of traditional bluegrass sounds with mandolin, guitar, and fiddle, offering a refreshing acoustic experience.
Before her performance, Pearce spoke with Country Now about her excitement to showcase new music while celebrating bluegrass legends. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with such esteemed artists.
Skaggs shared his enthusiasm for the event, highlighting the significance of bluegrass music at the festival. He praised Pearce’s passion for the genre, noting her Kentucky roots and dedication to preserving its legacy.
Tuttle shared her excitement about performing at a stadium for the first time, expressing anticipation for the unique experience it would provide.
Pearce’s performance didn’t stop there; she also thrilled fans with her hits like “Truck on Fire” and “What He Didn’t Do,” culminating in a duet with Riley Green on “If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay.”
Fans can revisit these extraordinary performances on June 25 during the CMA Fest broadcast. The three-hour special, co-hosted by Riley Green and Lara Spencer from Good Morning America, airs at 8/7c on ABC and will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
The special will showcase performances from numerous artists, including Bailey Zimmerman, Blake Shelton, The Band Perry, and more, promising a celebration of country music’s finest talents.
