Carly Pearce’s Tour Finale in NYC
On Thursday night, Carly Pearce delighted her audience in New York City by inviting her close friend and fellow country singer Kelsea Ballerini to the stage for two unexpected duets.
Celebrating the Honest Woman Tour
Pearce concluded her Honest Woman: Up Close Tour at the Gramercy Theatre, marking the end of an intimate series of performances that showcased her latest album, Honest Woman. The concert reached a thrilling climax with Ballerini’s appearance, where they performed not just one, but two songs together.
Excitement and Fun on Stage
“I’ve enjoyed every moment bringing this music to life. It’s the best music I’ve ever created. And New York, to be honest, I’m feeling a bit tipsy,” Pearce jokingly shared with the crowd.
Kelsea Ballerini Joins the Fun
The audience erupted with excitement as Ballerini joined Pearce onstage. They kicked off their duet with “You’re Drunk, Go Home,” a track from Ballerini’s Subject To Change album, which originally featured Pearce and Kelly Clarkson.
A Celebration of Friendship
Fans cheered and sang along as the two artists embraced their friendship. “I could say so many wonderful things about Kelsea,” Pearce expressed. “A few months ago, I asked her if she could make it to the show, and I’ve been eagerly looking forward to this moment. She is like a sister to me, one of my closest friends, and it’s such an honor to share this stage with her tonight.”
More Music to Enjoy
Pearce humorously noted that Ballerini “couldn’t just come and sing one song,” leading them to cozy up on the front of the stage for their next performance. “We grew up on ’90s country, so we wanted to sing a song that we both cherish,” Pearce mentioned.
Honoring Friends in the Audience
Before their final song, Pearce acknowledged Rita Wilson, who was in attendance, as well as “the Queen of Broadway,” Kristin Chenoweth. Pearce had performed with Chenoweth the previous night at a Dolly Parton tribute in Nashville. Despite having never met before, they quickly became friends, with Chenoweth even rescheduling her flight to attend Pearce’s show.
Closing Performance
“When I think of honest women, I think of Rita Wilson, Kristin Chenoweth, and Kelsea Ballerini,” Pearce declared as they prepared for their final number.
Looking Ahead
The duo concluded their surprise set with a heartfelt rendition of The Chicks’ “Cowboy Take Me Away.” Although Pearce’s Honest Woman: Up Close Tour has come to a close, she still has two performances lined up in London on December 2 and 3, marking the end of an incredible year.
