On July 10, Bryan Martin unveiled his latest single, “Take It From Me,” through Average Joes Entertainment. This introspective song follows his previous hits, “Rather Be The Fire” and “Tug O’ War,” the latter of which is gaining traction on country radio.
Co-written with Ben Roberts and Steven Champion, Martin draws from his rich life experiences in this track. As a former bull rider, military veteran, and oil rig worker, he addresses profound regrets while imparting wisdom that arises from overcoming life’s toughest challenges.
In the chorus, Martin sings, “Take it from me, you’ll take it too hard, take it too deep, take it too far… God please, I can’t take it anymore / Lord, just take it from me.” These lines reflect the emotional weight he carries and the advice he wishes to share.
Martin describes the song’s significance as deeply personal. In an interview with Country Now, he revealed that the lyrics stemmed from a time when his drive for professional success eclipsed everything else.
He acknowledges his part in the breakdown of a long-term relationship, admitting that his ambition often sidelined those he loved. Writing “Take It From Me” compelled him to confront harsh truths about himself. “I was in a relationship for almost 15 years, and it was filled with constant arguments. I thought I could fix everything, but I overlooked many internal struggles while chasing a music career that my mother always wished for me,” he reflected.
Now, Martin enjoys a new chapter in life, marked by happiness and newfound clarity. Recently, he welcomed a baby boy, Pascal, with his girlfriend, which has reshaped both his songwriting and stage presence.
For years, alcohol helped mask his insecurities while performing, but he now approaches his shows with a renewed sense of self. “I used to think I was a great performer because I was drunk, but now I see my awkwardness on stage without the bottle. I’m learning to embrace who I am sober,” he admits.
Martin’s understanding of success has evolved. He now values genuine connections with his audience over commercial achievements. “It’s not about how many records I sell anymore. If my music can resonate with one person, that’s what matters,” he stated.
With the release of “Take It From Me,” Martin wants listeners to recognize that healing is achievable. “This journey shows that even those who seem successful have struggled. I hope others find hope through my story that peace of mind is possible,” he expresses.
