About the Album

Butts described Hello, Honky Tonk as a personal tribute to the honky-tonks and vibrant nightlife that have significantly influenced her life and career. Recorded in Nashville under the guidance of producer Tofer Brown, this album encapsulates a lively honky-tonk atmosphere filled with recognizable characters that listeners may encounter on the dance floor or at the bar.

Inspiration Behind the Concept

Drawing inspiration from vaudeville scenes in Chicago and Disney World’s Country Bear Musical Jamboree, Butts envisions Hello, Honky Tonk as a gathering space for various characters. “The concept was inspired by the character Roxie Hart in Chicago, dreaming up her show and the people in it,” Butts explained. “I see all this unfolding at Skinny Dennis in Nashville, involving diverse individuals reveling in nightlife. It connects us all.”
