Little Big Town Set to Release New Album
Little Big Town is just hours away from the launch of their latest album, It’s a Dying Art, scheduled for release on Friday, August 28. The GRAMMY® Award-winning group, known for their multi-platinum hits, recently shared insights with Lon Helton about their aspirations for this new project.
A Journey of Creative Exploration
This album marks their first release in four years, following 2022’s Mr. Sun. The band expressed their desire to create this record without constraints, focusing on creativity, nostalgia, and the musical influences that have shaped their journey.
Embracing Nostalgia and Creativity
“We aimed to produce an album free of limitations. It was purely about creativity. As we discovered new songs, we integrated nostalgic elements that we have always cherished,” they explained during their co-hosting stint on Country Countdown USA over the weekend.
New Singles and Collaborations
Little Big Town initially teased fans with the single “Hey There Sunshine,” which they performed at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards. They have since released additional tracks, including “Over and Over,” “Sucker For A Sad Song” featuring Ashley Monroe, “We Could Have It All,” and their latest, “Closing Time,” featuring the talented Kelsea Ballerini, a six-time GRAMMY® nominee.
Reflecting on 25 Years Together
As the album approaches release, fans can anticipate experiencing the band in a fresh yet familiar manner, reflecting on their evolution and the trust built during their 25 years of collaboration.
Production and Themes
It’s a Dying Art was co-produced by two-time GRAMMY® winner Gena Johnson alongside Little Big Town member Karen Fairchild. The album promises a blend of personal storytelling and emotionally resonant lyrics inspired by real-life experiences.
Upcoming Celebrations and Tours
Following the album launch, the band will celebrate with a special performance at TODAY Plaza on September 1, as part of the Citi Concert Series. Later this fall, they will hit the road for their For The Art Of It Tour, kicking off on September 24 in St. Petersburg, Florida, with stops in cities across the U.S. and Canada.
Holiday Tradition at the Ryman
In December, they will return to Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium for their holiday tradition. The Christmas Shows, scheduled for December 8-10, will feature a setlist of beloved holiday classics along with some of the band’s biggest hits. This marks their second consecutive year hosting holiday shows at the Ryman, following their 2025 performances.
